An Alumasc Harmer drainage system has been chosen for Lion Plaza, the City of London’s high profile new commercial development.

Harmer Drainage System chosen for Lion Plaza

PROJECT NAME: Lion Plaza
LOCATION: London
PRODUCTS: Harmer SML
CLIENT: Thorstone Land and Property Ltd
ARCHITECT: Halpern Partnership, London

The development, which incorporates offices, retail outlets and leisure facilities, is situated in Threadneedle Street near the Stock Exchange and the Bank of England.

Harmer SML, which provides the benefits of cast iron at a low cost premium, provided the perfect complement for Lion Plaza, which comprises 2 buildings.

Harmer SML is a socketless system featuring all the qualities inherent in cast iron such as strength, non-combustibility and noise reduction. It is lightweight and easy to handle and fix using single screw couplings. Other benefits include simple, efficient waste connections and economy throughout the building life cycle. The system meets European Standard pr EBN 877.

The project’s sub-contractor, AMEC, recommended the system after visiting Alumasc manufacturing sites in Europe and experiencing the technical expertise and levels of service available. In addition, the large 12” pipes required by the project are available as a standard part of the Harmer SML range.
