Whether Alumasc drainage products and systems are sourced through merchants or specified, the resources of Alumasc Technical Services are available to advise on all aspects of selection, specification, and integration into the overall building design.
Where Alumasc drainage products are being installed as a specialist subcontract, Alumasc support becomes project specific, and the scope of Alumasc’s technical support extends through site installation to warranties and maintenance schedules. The Alumasc Drainage Manager will provide continuity from inception to completion of a project.
General technical support available to contractors, specifiers and building clients includes:
- Advice on choice of product or system best suited to the project
- General advice on Alumasc technical and performance data
- Advice on interpretation of Building Regulations and other Statutory Requirements in relation to the intended application
- Advice on specific product applications and assistance with product detailing for awkward situations
Project specific technical support can include, depending on the project parameters:
- Guidance on correct application of Harmer Systems to ensure compliance with Parts 2 and 3 of BS EN 12056: for soil and vent drainage (Part 2) Alumasc Technical Services will advise on Pipework material and general arrangement of the installation including provision of access points and venting; for rainwater drainage (Gravity Internal Rainwater Drainage, Part 3) Alumasc Technical Services will advise on general layout and pipework sizing taking into account rainfall intensity and appropriate risk factor.
