Appraisals of Extensive Green Roofs Liverpool JMU 2008
The benefits of green roofs to building owners and the wider society are widely accepted. In practice however, it is assumed building owners do not fully appreciate the importance of the benefits derived by society.
Government is being lobbied to introduce positive policy to incentivise increased investment in green roof technology. In order to comply with HM Treasury procedures (laid out in The Green Book), a market failure or fulfillment of a specific government objective must be proven, prior to any policy development.
The ‘Appraisals of Extensive Green Roofs’ survey aims to establish whether governments need to incentivise green roof technology uptake by correcting any failure, by the market, to value all benefits. Your opinion really matters!
